We want the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom to be the best experience for you! Therefore, our team has taken the time to lay out expectations and guidelines for this special night. We ask that all participants adhere to these guidelines in order to take part in this event.

The Houston Christian Homeschool Prom requires all participants, both students, and adults, to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all prom activities  Participants are expected to treat each other with courtesy and respect at all times.

Post with Caution

Avoid threats, bullying, sexting, or other inappropriate social media posts. These are a violation of our code of conduct and may prevent you from attending prom or future proms.

Maintain Dress Code All Evening 

Please be sure to make sure your attire remains in dress code all evening. Violation of dress code, including removing any fixes that have been made, will result in your removal from prom. Photos taken by our photography team will not be posted to our photo site if students in a photo are not in dress code.

Avoid Public Displays of Affection 

Kissing, caressing, or extended embracing are not appropriate at prom events. Sitting on each others' laps is likewise unacceptable. Both students and adult volunteers are expected to adhere to this standard. The refreshment area, dance floor, activity & game area, are all considered public spaces and as such, students and adult volunteers shall refrain from public displays of affection. Failure to refrain is grounds for dismissal from prom.

Dance Respectfully

Body touching body dancing is not allowed and could be considered inappropriate. Moshing, twerking, body surfing and the like are not permitted.

Chaperones are Here to Help You

Chaperones can help if you need to go grab something from a car or outside the prom area. Please do not leave the area unescorted. You will not be allowed back in unless there is an adult chaperone with you. Parents will be contacted if there is an emergency and you need to leave early.

No Smoking

Smoking, chewing tobacco, e-cigs, and vaping are not allowed.

Leave Outside Food Outside

No outside food allowed

No Drinking 

Consumption of alcoholic beverages at prom events is not allowed

No Illegal Drugs

Illegal drugs are not allowed at the prom or on the premises at all.

We Reserve the Right to . . . 

Any violation of the Code of Conduct, including disrespectful or violent behavior, may result in expulsion from the event. The Houston Christian Homeschool Prom reserves the right to respond to any violation by prohibiting the violator(s) from attending any future prom events, including the prom itself. Please send questions to our Houston Christian Homeschool Prom administration team if you have them.


There will be no refunds unless the event is canceled by the sponsors.


In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom all participants and volunteers (hereinafter referred to as "Family") agree to the following:

  1. Family acknowledges admission to prom requires purchase of a Prom Ticket or Guest Voucher.
  2. Release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue either the Lighthouse Events, Houston Christian Homeschool Prom, The Met or The Met Hub Center, the DJ, The city of Houston, or any other location of Prom activities, (herein referred to as "Prom Activity Locations"), their officers, employees, board members or other families participating in the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom (hereinafter referred to as "Releasees") from all liability to Family for any loss or damage and any claim or damage on account of injury to the person or property or resulting in death of a Family member, whether caused by the negligence of Releasees or otherwise. Family is willingly participating in activities of the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom or any other activities on the premises of Prom Activity Locations.
  3. Family agrees to indemnify Releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost Releasees may incur due to the presence of Family in or on the premises of Prom Activity Locations.
  4. Family assumes full responsibility for and risk of bodily injury, death or property damage due to negligence of Releasees or otherwise while in or on the premises of Prom Activity Locations and/or while working or for any purpose participating in the activities of the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom.
  5. Family expressly agrees that this release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Texas and that if any portion of the agreement is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
  6. Family, in consideration of being permitted to participate in the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom, for Family, and Family's heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, releases and forever discharges all Releases, and their heirs, administrators, and executors of and from any and every claim, demand, action or right of action, of whatsoever kind of nature, either in law or in equity arising from or by reason of any bodily injury or personal injuries known or unknown, death or property damage resulting or to result from any accident which may occur as a result of participation in the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom or any activities in connection with the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom, whether by negligence or not.
  7. Family grants to the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom and its successors and assigns, the right to use and publish for educational or other purposes, photographic likenesses or pictures of Family taken at the Prom or at Prom-related events and activities.
  8. Family releases all officials and professional personnel from any claim whatsoever on account of first aid, treatment or service rendered Family during participation in the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom
  9. The parties to this agreement are Christians and believe that the Bible commands them to make every effort to live at peace and to resolve disputes with each other in private or within the Christian church (see Matthew 18:15-20; 1 Corinthians 6:1-8). Therefore, the parties agree that any claim or dispute arising from or related to this agreement shall be settled by biblically based mediation and, if necessary, legally binding arbitration in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation of the Institute for Christian Conciliation. Judgment upon an arbitration decision may be entered in any court otherwise having jurisdiction. The parties understand that these methods shall be the sole remedy for any controversy or claim arising out of this agreement or any dispute arising out of any activities or events associated with the Houston Christian Homeschool Prom and expressly waive their right to file a lawsuit in any civil court against one another or against another Houston Christian Homeschool Prom family or Lighthouse Events for such disputes, except to enforce arbitration decision. Both parties enter into this waiver of jury trial and alternative dispute resolution agreement voluntarily, knowingly, and willingly, having had the opportunity to confer with counsel and choosing to enter into this Agreement nonetheless.
  10. This agreement shall be binding on each member of the Family, their personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin.
  11. This release contains the entire agreement between the parties to this agreement and the terms of this release are contractual and not a mere recital.
  12. Family states that both Parents (or Legal Guardians) of Family have carefully read the above release and know the contents of the release and agree to this release as Family's own free act.
  13. Family understands, acknowledges, and agrees that all purchases are non-refundable and agrees not to dispute the refundability of any purchases made in connection with Houston Christian Homeschool Prom.
  14. By attending any Houston Christian Homeschool Prom event, you voluntarily assume all risks involving going to a public place and related to exposure to COVID-19 and any of its variants.
